Course Content
Our month long (IN-PERSON) course teaches you
Everything you need to know to begin your new career
As a Slinger/Signaller

Slinger/Signaller Introduction
The opening section of the course offers a brief introduction on the billion pound crane industry and more importantly, how you can take your own slice of the pie. We look at the different types of cranes used in the UK and what to expect in your new role.

Slinging Techniques 101
Part two gets straight into the technical knowledge you'll need to complete your work. Here we take an in depth look at all things including lifting equipment, method, sling formation, application, hand signals and how to communicate with the crane team by radio.

The Paperwork
Don't worry, it's not as dreadful as it sounds! Everything you do in your new role has been planned by a senior appointed person. Here we cover equipment certification, lifting plans, method statements, crane drawings and your personal responsibilities.

Preparing for your assesment
Passing this industry recognised accreditation is essential to your progression, there will be a written theory test, followed by a practical exam carried out by an independent third party assessor. Don't sweat it though, we have a 85% pass rate.

Work Experience/Shadowing
The reason our candidates find the transition into work so easy is because we don't let them graduate until they've completed work experience alongside an accomplished crane supervisor on a live project. This is the quickest way to become a competent lifting Tec.

Optimise your earning potential
A standard shift for a slinger should earn them a minimum of £180 a day. With weekend/night shifts capping out at £350 a shift we'll show you exactly how to land the best paying work, what you need to look for and how to get the best paying opportunities.

One on One Time
We strongly believe in allocating one on one time for every student with their instructor. This is an opportunity for the student to recap anything they've missed or fill any knowledge gaps that are personal to them. This helps ensure confidence for that first job.

First Day On The Job
You've made it! Now it's time to reap the benefit of your studies and start work. Here we will do our best to connect students with our network of employers as well as giving them access to our post graduation support services like our emergency helpline.
